CAPE COD VIKING 200
2012

The Viking 200 Cardboard Boat Challenge was held on July 28, 2012 at Sundancer's Restaurant. There were 16 boats participating, twelve of which finished the race. Although the cloudy skies and threat of rain loomed the weather was perfect for a cardboard boat challenge! The crowd cheered on each boat. There were four exciting sinkings - first time entrants Kream 'N Kone, two boats with similar names - Get Cracken and Time to Get Kraken, only one, however received the Most Spectacular Sinking trophy - read on to see who received this coveted award.

Matt Pitta, from radio station WXTK, did a fantastic job as our Celebrity Starter, making sure everyone got onboard safely and off to a good start. He also did a live broadcast from the event. A Baby Center van was on hand receiving donations along with disposable diapers and wipes. Acclaimed author Frank Jersey was selling his newest book Viking 200 - a Cape Cod Adventure, which is a history and photo collection of the race. All proceeds from book sales at the event were donated to A Baby Center.
